Lead the architectural vision and governance for the full iBASIS IT/IS ecosystem. Ensure all systems are secure, scalable, interoperable, and aligned to business strategy. Provide end-to-end architectural oversight for major initiatives and drive modernization, standardization, and documentation excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Enterprise Architecture & Governance
- Define and maintain the end-to-end architecture blueprint across voice, messaging, billing/BSS, SAP/Finance, reporting, infrastructure, web applications, and integrations.
- Chair the Architecture & IT Design Board reviewing new solutions, changes, and technology decisions for compliance with standards, patterns, and security.
- Establish and maintain reference architectures, design principles, reusable patterns, and technology standards.
- Provide architectural oversight for all major projects, ensuring alignment across domains.
2. Security & Compliance by Design
- Partner with the CISO to embed security controls, IAM policies, data protection measures, and secure coding practices across all architecture layers.
- Ensure every solution conforms to security, resilience, privacy, and performance requirements.
- Contribute to risk assessments, architectural impact analysis, and security reviews.
3. Technology Strategy & Innovation
- Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud-native approaches, integration platforms, and AI/automation trends for business relevance.
- Define technology roadmaps, platform lifecycle management, upgrade strategies, and rationalization plans.
- Evaluate and guide adoption of AI/ML platforms, GenAI tools, intelligent automation, and cloudnative AI architectures.
- Integrate AI roadmap into broader technology lifecycle and modernization strategy.
- Recommend modernization opportunities to reduce tech debt and improve cost efficiency.
4. Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Own the centralized product and solution documentation repository ensuring consistent, accurate, and up-to-date architecture artefacts.
- Publish system interface catalogues, dependency maps, data flow diagrams, and solution blueprints.
- Lead efforts to improve cross-domain dependency visibility and support structured change impact assessments.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Engineering Excellence CoE on quality gates, automation readiness, performance testing standards, and CI/CD alignment.
- Partner with delivery leads to translate business requirements into scalable, well-architected solutions.
- Collaborate with Finance, Security, Network Operations, and Business Teams to ensure architecture supports operational and strategic outcomes.
6. AI Strategy & Enterprise Use Case Enablement
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI/ML use cases across business and IT domains (operations optimization, automation, anomaly detection, forecasting, insight generation, etc.).
- Architect AI-ready platforms, data pipelines, API-based model integration, and cloud-native AI workloads.
- Partner with the Data/Analytics team and AI vendors to implement responsible AI frameworks,
ensuring accuracy, governance, explainability, and compliance.
- Drive adoption of GenAI, automation, and intelligence capabilities within applications, reporting, workflows, and customer-facing solutions.
- Ensure AI initiatives are aligned to business outcomes, secure by design, and maintain cost efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 13-18+ years of experience in architecture roles across telecom, enterprise IT, or cloud-native environments.
- Deep expertise in at least two domains (voice, messaging, billing/BSS, SAP, web apps, BI, cloud infrastructure).
- Strong background in integration architecture, microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), API frameworks, and data architecture.
- Proven experience implementing enterprise AI/ML use casespredictive analytics, anomaly detection, automation accelerators, or GenAI-driven capabilities.
- Strong understanding of AI architecture patterns: vector databases, RAG, model integration, data pipelines, MLOps, governance frameworks.
- Ability to translate business problems into feasible AI-enabled solution designs.Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrixed environment and influence without authority.
- Excellent communication, documentation discipline, and executive presence.
What Success Looks Like
- Robust architectural consistency across IT/IS systems.
- Improved cross-domain integration quality.
- Reduction in tech debt and duplicated solutions.
- Security and compliance embedded into all designs.
- Clear, complete solution documentation across systems.
- Faster, higher-quality delivery with fewer rework loops.
- Architecture Board functioning with strong governance and alignment.
