Job Summary

We are looking for a energetic and detail-oriented Purchase Executive with 1–3 years of experience in procurement of steel, angles, plates, and consumables for a manufacturing setup. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, cost negotiation, and ensuring timely procurement to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

- Procure steel materials such as plates, angles, channels, rods, sheets, and other structural items.
- Handle procurement of manufacturing consumables (welding rods, cutting tools, fasteners, abrasives, etc.).
- Identify and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per production requirements.

Vendor Management

- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing and payment terms to achieve cost savings.

Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Stores, and Planning teams for material requirements.
- Track inventory levels and ensure materials are available for continuous production.
- Monitor delivery schedules and follow up for timely receipt of materials.

Cost Control & Documentation

- Compare quotations, prepare comparative statements,



and finalize vendors.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspection of purchased materials.
- Handle vendor claims related to quality or shortages.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of steel grades, specifications, and market pricing trends.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and material usage.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain / Any relevant field
- Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (preferred but not mandatory)

Experience Requirements

- 1–3 years of experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in manufacturing industry
- Hands-on experience in steel, angles, plates, and industrial consumables procurement
