Job Title: Deputy Manager/ Manager Indirect Procurement

Role Summary

This Role will strategically manage and optimize the companys indirect spend categories across facility operations, CAPEX, logistics, IT, and administrative services. You will be responsible for driving cost-containment strategies, lead contract negotiations, and establish

robust service level agreements (SLAs). A key focus of this role is ensuring that all operational procurement aligns with the stringent compliance and safety frameworks required in medical-

grade manufacturing.

Core Responsibilities

1. Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

• CAPEX Sourcing: Lead end-to-end sourcing for manufacturing equipment, cleanroom expansions, sterilization machinery (autoclaves), and facility automation projects.

• MRO & Facility Operations: To handle procurement for complex Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies, specialized cleanroom consumables, and high-value utilities (HVAC validation, water purification systems, and waste management).

2. Contract Management & Standardization

• Agreement Standardization: Partner with the Legal department to build and implement standardized global agreements while crafting regional addendums to address local jurisdictional and regulatory requirements.

• Risk Mitigation: Enforce rigorous compliance clauses, liability limitations, and intellectual property protections within all vendor contracts.

• SLA Accountability: Define, track, and enforce strict Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and SLAs for critical service providers to minimize operational downtime.

3. Cost Optimization & Analytics

• Spend Analysis: Conduct regular total cost of ownership (TCO)



assessments across indirect categories to identify leakage and consolidate vendor bases.

• Budgeting: Collaborate with cross-functional department heads (Engineering, HR, IT, Admin) to forecast annual indirect expenditure and ensure alignment with corporate

financial targets.

4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a strategic business partner to internal stakeholders, translating technical engineering and operational needs into commercial

requirements.

• Mentorship: Lead and mentor procurement executives and Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs), fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic thinking.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education:

- B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering) AND/OR
- MBA / Post-Graduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations.

• Industry Experience: 14-18 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a minimum of 6-8 years dedicated strictly to Indirect Materials. Strong preference for individuals coming from medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or highly regulated precision

manufacturing environments.

• Technical Expertise:

- Good in ERP systems (such as SAP MM/Ariba or Oracle) for procurement analytics and workflow automation.
- Expertise in contract law fundamentals, commercial terminology, and drafting complex service agreements.
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics (Excel, Power BI) for spend mapping.

• Soft Skills: High-caliber negotiation skills, robust executive presence, exceptional conflict-resolution capabilities and the ability to influence cross functional team.
