Experience

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Hydro, Pumped Storage, Thermal Power, Renewable Energy, Transmission or large infrastructure projects.

• Experience representing the Owner/Developer or Owner's Engineer on large construction projects is preferred.

• Experience in managing electrical works from project planning through commissioning is essential.

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

• Experience in Hydro/PSP/Power Plant/Transmission/EPC Projects is mandatory.

Role Summary

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, reviewing, coordinating and controlling all electrical works for the Pumped Storage Project from the Developer's perspective, ensuring timely execution, statutory compliance, quality, safety, and cost optimization. The role will act as the interface between EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, statutory authorities and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Power Management

• Develop the complete construction power strategy and implementation plan

for the project.

• Review and approve temporary and permanent construction power schemes, electrical load calculations and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).

• Ensure reliable power availability for construction sites, batching plants, crushers, tunnels, workshops, offices and labour camps.

• Monitor power consumption and optimize electrical distribution during

construction.

Electrical Engineering & Design Review





• Review and approve electrical designs, SLDs, layouts, specifications, vendor drawings and engineering documents.

• Review electrical packages including transformers, HT/LT switchgear, DG sets, substations, cabling, earthing, lighting and protection systems. • Coordinate engineering interfaces between Civil, Mechanical, HydroMechanical, E&M; and Transmission packages.

Construction Monitoring & Contractor Management

• Monitor execution of all electrical works carried out by EPC contractors.

• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

• Review contractor progress, identify bottlenecks and implement mitigation measures.

• Participate in site inspections, FATs, SATs, testing and commissioning

activities.

• Review contractor bills, change orders, technical deviations and variation proposals.

Statutory Liaison

• Coordinate with UPPTCL, DISCOM, CEIG and other statutory authorities for temporary and permanent power connections, approvals, inspections and energization.

• Ensure timely submission of statutory documentation and compliance with applicable regulations.

Planning & Project Controls

• Track electrical work progress against project milestones.





• Coordinate with Planning and Procurement teams to ensure timely availability of equipment and materials.

• Identify project risks and recommend corrective actions to achieve project timelines.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards and project

EHS requirements.

• Conduct electrical safety reviews, audits and risk assessments.

• Ensure implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures and electrical isolation practices.

• Monitor quality of installation, testing and commissioning activities.

Documentation & Reporting

• Review testing procedures, commissioning reports and as-built

documentation.

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting key achievements, risks and mitigation plans.

• Maintain records of approvals, inspections, testing and statutory compliance.
