An Automation Test Engineer (Playwright) is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks from scratch to ensure the quality and performance of modern web applications.

Role Overview

- Scale web automation strategies.
- Accelerate continuous release cycles.
- Reduce manual regression testing.
- Maintain framework stability weekly.

Key Responsibilities

- Framework Development: Build scalable, modular automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright.
- Test Architecture: Design robust frameworks following the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.
- Script Engineering: Write clean, asynchronous automated test scripts utilizing TypeScript or JavaScript.
- API Validation: Perform server-side API testing alongside End-to-End (E2E) UI testing workflows.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate test suites seamlessly into modern automated pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab.
- Cross-Browser Testing: Ensure multi-browser application stability covering Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit.
- Defect Management: Identify, isolate, log, and track software defects to closure within Jira.
- Agile Collaboration: Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement sessions, and code reviews.

Required Technical Skills

- Core Tooling: Hands-on proficiency with the Playwright framework.(Mandatory)
- Languages:



Advanced proficiency writing code in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Web Tech: Transparent understanding of HTML5, CSS selectors, XPath expressions, and DOM manipulation.
- CI/CD Tools: Strong competence executing tasks inside GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Version Control: Mastery over branching, merging, and pull requests via Git.
- API Testing: Background verifying REST endpoints using Playwright API Request Context, Axios, or Postman.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience Level: Minimum 6+ years in software automation testing, with 2 years dedicated to Playwright.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical fields.
- Legacy Tools: Prior background transitioning teams away from Selenium or Cypress suites.
- Advanced Reporting: Integrating customized visual reporters like Allure Reports or HTML reports.
- Cloud Solutions: Running distributed test configurations on Browser Stack, AWS, or Sauce Labs.
