General Manager Manufacturing

JOB SUMMARY

The General Manager – Manufacturing is responsible for leading and managing all manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement objectives are achieved. The role serves as the Head of Department and is accountable for Automation, Equipment, Assembly, and Manufacturing functions within the organization.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead the Manufacturing Department and drive operational excellence.
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure achievement of production targets, quality standards, and delivery commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with Quality, SCM, Purchase, R&D;, PM, Finance, and HR departments.

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage daily manufacturing operations and resource utilization.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely execution.
- Improve production efficiency and capacity utilization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Drive lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.

AUTOMATION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead manufacturing automation initiatives.
- Improve production efficiency through automation projects.
- Ensure optimal utilization of automated systems and equipment.
- Support implementation of current automation technologies.
- Monitor automation performance and reliability.

EQUIPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee production equipment utilization and performance.
- Ensure equipment availability to meet production requirements.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.




- Support equipment upgrades and capacity expansion projects.
- Monitor equipment efficiency and uptime metrics.

ASSEMBLY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage assembly operations and production line performance.
- Ensure adherence to assembly standards and work instructions.
- Improve assembly productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Optimize manpower utilization and line balancing.
- Reduce rework and assembly defects.

MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITIES

- Achieve production output, quality, and delivery targets.
- Monitor manufacturing KPIs and implement corrective actions.
- Improve overall manufacturing productivity and efficiency.
- Control manufacturing costs and reduce operational waste.
- Ensure customer requirements are met consistently.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop long-term manufacturing strategies.
- Support business growth through capacity planning.
- Participate in investment and expansion planning.
- Identify opportunities for technology adoption and process optimization.

TEAM LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and develop manufacturing teams.
- Establish departmental goals and performance expectations.
- Conduct performance reviews and talent development activities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.




- Monitor manufacturing costs and resource utilization.
- Drive cost reduction and productivity improvement programs.
- Support capital expenditure planning and evaluation.

COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Support internal and external audits.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Master's Degree preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

- 15+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership or Head of Department role.
- Experience managing Automation, Equipment, Assembly, and Manufacturing operations.
