Job Summary

We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Junior Skincare Formulator / R&D; Chemist to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will assist in developing, batching, and testing new skincare products—ranging from creams, lotions, and serums to cleansers and body care.

This is an ideal role for a fresher or junior formulator (0–2 years experience) passionate about cosmetic chemistry, raw material innovation, and hands-on lab experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Product Development & Bench Work:
- Formulate prototype skincare products (creams, gels, serums, cleansers, toners, and emulsions) under the guidance of senior formulators.
- Prepare laboratory bench samples according to Master Formula Records (MFR).
- Adjust batch pH, viscosity, color, and texture to meet target specs.
- Testing & Stability Evaluation:
- Conduct stability, compatibility, and shelf-life testing (freeze-thaw, accelerated temperature stability, pH, viscosity).
- Monitor batch behavior over time and maintain detailed physical observation logs.
- Raw Material & Inventory Management:
- Source, catalog, and evaluate current active ingredients, emulsifiers, surfactants, and preservatives from suppliers.
- Maintain safety data sheets (MSDS/COA) and ensure raw material lab stock is maintained.




- Pilot Scale-up & Documentation:
- Assist in scaling successful lab prototypes up to pilot/production batch sizes.
- Prepare accurate lab logs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and batch manufacturing records adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Requirements & Qualifications

- Education:
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, OR
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm, OR
- Diploma / Degree in Cosmetic Technology or Personal Care Science.
- Experience:
- Freshers with strong academic lab projects/internships in cosmetic formulation OR candidates with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in personal care/skincare R&D.;
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of skincare emulsion systems, surfactant chemistry, pH balancing, and preservation systems.
- Familiarity with basic lab equipment (pH meter, viscometer, overhead stirrer, homogenizer).
- Basic knowledge of Indian cosmetic regulations (BIS / CDSCO standards) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail and precise documentation habits.
- Curiosity about skincare market trends and new ingredient technologies.
- Strong problem-solving ability and team spirit.
