Cutting List Expert (Modular Furniture & Interior Manufacturing)

Job Summary

The Cutting List Expert is responsible for preparing accurate and optimized cutting lists for modular furniture and interior projects. The role involves analysing approved drawings, preparing material-wise cutting details, minimizing material wastage, coordinating with the design and production teams, and ensuring error-free execution in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cutting List Preparation

- Prepare detailed cutting lists from approved production drawings.
- Generate accurate panel sizes, edge banding details, drilling information, and hardware requirements.
- Ensure all cutting lists are complete before production begins.
- Verify measurements and dimensions before releasing cutting lists.

2. Drawing Analysis

- Study AutoCAD and furniture production drawings.
- Identify any discrepancies in drawings before production.
- Coordinate with designers to clarify missing or incorrect details.
- Ensure drawings are production-ready.

3. Material Planning

- Calculate board requirements (plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board, laminate, etc.).
- Prepare optimized sheet layouts to minimize material wastage.
- Estimate material consumption for each project.
- Monitor material utilization and suggest improvements.

4. Production Coordination

- Coordinate with the production manager and machine operators.
- Release cutting lists according to the production schedule.
- Assist the factory team during production whenever clarification is required.
- Ensure timely issue of cutting lists to avoid production delays.

5. Quality Assurance

- Verify the accuracy of all dimensions before production.
- Ensure cutting lists match the approved client drawings.




- Prevent production errors by conducting cross-checks.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision records.

6. Software & Documentation

- Prepare cutting lists using AutoCAD, Excel, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, IMOS, AlphaCAM, or other production software (as applicable).
- Maintain project-wise cutting list records.
- Update revisions whenever drawings are modified.
- Prepare production reports when required.

7. Process Improvement

- Recommend methods to reduce material wastage.
- Improve cutting efficiency and production workflow.
- Support implementation of manufacturing best practices.

Required Skills

- Excellent knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing.
- Robust understanding of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, laminates, edge banding, and hardware.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, Furniture Design, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in AutoCAD or furniture production software is an added advantage.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in modular furniture manufacturing or interior fit-out production.
- Experience in preparing cutting lists for wardrobes, kitchens, TV units, office furniture, and custom modular furniture is preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
