We are seeking a proactive WHSE engineer with a strong electrical engineering background and hand on experiences in O&M; of Solar and Wind assets. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for ensuring WHSE compliances, mitigation risks in live operational workplace and risk management for O&M; activities in high voltage system, turbine maintenance, and solar array area. The Safety Engineer will play a key role in maintaining compliance, conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and fostering a strong safety culture at the project site.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Develop and enforce site-specific safety protocols for O&M; tasks, including blade repairs, inverter maintenance, crane lifts, and confined space entry in operational wind/solar assets.
- Conduct daily safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits on solar PV farms, wind turbines, substations, and O&M; activities, focusing on electrical hazards like arc flash,



live-line work, and HV switching.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and root causes and prepare reports compliant with Indian Electricity Rules (IER), Factories Act.
- Train O&M; teams on electrical safety (e.g., LOTO, PPE for 11kV+ systems), work-at-height, and emergency response for asset downtime scenarios.
- Collaborate with operations leads to integrate safety into maintenance schedules, ensuring PTW (Permit-to-Work) systems and electrical isolation procedures minimize outages.
- Monitor environmental compliance (e.g., waste from battery storage, oil spills) and support sustainability audits for renewable assets.
- Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are performed safely to avoid electrical, mechanical, and fire-related hazards.
- Review O&M; procedures for potential risks and recommend improvements.
- Develop, update, and execute emergency response plans for fire, electrical shock, natural hazards, and rescue operations from heights.
- Maintain safety metrics, KPIs, and digital records.
- Follow-up, communication, and records of BLE WHSE governance system.
- Monthly WHSE MIS Management, follow-up, timely compilation and reporting with analysis.

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
- Certification in EHS disciplines (NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder training and reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety software

Experiences:

- 3–5 years’ experience in EHS roles within solar or wind power O&M; operations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety systems, solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, HT/LT equipment, or wind turbine safety protocols.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage systems, SCADA monitoring, and O&M; hazards in live assets
- Willingness to work rotational shifts at remote sites and travel as needed
