Background

i) Educational Qualification

Should have worked as Fire Officer in Government / Private Sector for at least 05 years

Desirable:

- Diploma in Fire Safety from State Board of Technical Education / Diploma in Fire Engineering.

- BSc / B(Tech) with at least 5 years Industry Experience.

- First Aid & Safety Course from State Fire Trg Centre.

- Basic computer skills in MS Excel, Word, Office for initiating reports.

- Can READ, WRITE & SPEAK Marathi, Hindi & English.

- HMV Driving License & experience in driving Fire Tender.

ii) Experience

Minimum : 5 years as Fire Officer

Maximum : 15 years as Fire Officer

iii) Age Limit

Minimum : 38 years

Maximum : 45 years

Job Role & Responsibilities

Role :

- Ensure Fire Safety at BAL Akurdi Premises & provide advisory support to other Plants.

- To lead Fire Dept & coordinate duties of Fm, allocate responsibilities to cover entire premises, monitor upkeep of fire appliances.

- Liaise with PCMC & other Govt agencies for obtaining Fire NOC, license renewals, calibration of pressure gauges, Weigh Bridge, etc.

- Liaise with Police / PCMC / other Govt agencies to process Fire-calls, Range Allocation, Wireless Telephony License Renewals, Weapon License Renewals, Lockdown Permits, lodging FIRs / Complaints. - Coordinate Mutual Fire Fighting Scheme with PCMC & neighboring Companies.

- Conduct Refresher Fire Trg for all on-roll Fm of BAL Akurdi & Chakan Plants.

- Advice Mgt regarding fire appliances to be installed at new complexes & revise existing installations.

- Operate as SHE Captain for Security & Fire Division and update Dept Manual, HIRA, Legal Compliance aspects. Prepare Division for OHSAS / IMS Certification / Recertification / Surveillance Audits.





- Provide Fire & Security support for Helicopter operations and safety during parking at Hangar.

- Operate as Shift-in-charge 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shifts & Supervise Guards (attendance, relief, discipline, alertness).

- Monitor Access (Man & Material) & patrol boundary / sensitive areas in premises.

- Apart from Shift-time, be on-call to attend any emergency (medical, fire, IR, accident, etc).

Responsibilities :

- Retain fire equipment in operational readiness state at all times, viz :- 02 Fire Tenders, @ 500 Fire extinguishers, Companywide installed fire hydrants, fire detection, alarm, suppression & firefighting systems at various complexes of Corporate, R&D;, PE, LPG, Pump house, GTE Hostel, Helipad, Offices of various Depts, BFL(AF), Koregaon Park, etc.

- Coordinate AMC of fire-extinguishers & all fire-appliances in BAL premises & Koregaon Park.

- Plan & coordinate relief of Fm when required for site visits for AMC, Petrol / Diesel decantation, Installation / Commissioning of fire appliances in new projects / offices, etc.

- Conduct Refresher Fire Fighting Trg for all staff of Security Dept as also train employees & contract labor of all Depts, Offices, R&D; test cells, GTE Hostel, BFL(AF), PE, Chakan Plants, etc.

- Coordinate Fire Evacuation Emergency Drills across the Plant & important complexes, viz :- Corporate, R&D;, PE, BFL(AF), HR etc.

- Attend Fire Calls within Plant & also provide support to PCMC Fire Brigade in case of an emergency.

- To attend to other allied functions viz :- assist if employees are caught in closed lifts, clearance of bee-hives, pest control of hangar,



snake / other animals disposal, etc.

- Issue Car Stickers, monitor Road Safety & Parking norms in premises.

- Assist CSO in conduct of Security Staff’s Annual Trg & ensure fitness.

- Monitor Security & Fire Staff activities / interactions to prevent any non-conformance.

- Administration of Security & Fire Division to include :- procurement & issue of uniforms, seasonal wear, Team kit, Dept assets & conduct preventive maintenance.

- Maintain records & ensure upkeep of Dept vehicles with emphasis on Legal Compliances.

- FO is custodian of all confidential documents, files, material impounded during enquiries.

Competency Requirements

Technical / Functional :

- Sound knowledge of Access Control mechanism / process, Remote Surveillance, Control Room Operations & Material Movement.

- Understand contemporary Fire-Safety operations, use of gadgets & Emergency processes.

Behavioral :

- High degree of awareness & alertness on / off duty.

- Supportive in nature, inquisitive & have eye for detail.

- To reside inside BAJAJ Vihar & family to be able to adjust to others.

- Have a very high sense of commitment, dedication to duty & have positive mind-set.

- Preferably be Marathi speaking from Maharashtra State.

- To be physically & be medically FIT to take-on strenuous activity.

- Explicit discipline record from previous organization.

- NO negative Service / Police Record, Court Cases, other distractions.

- Non-alcoholic.

- Have maturity to lead current Team of Security Staff.

Specific expertise required for functional area :

- Security Operations, viz :- Industrial Security experience Operations of fire-extinguishers, fire hydrants / hose, fire tender, detection systems, fire-panels, etc..

- If from Private Sector, should have faced External Audits, viz :- IMS, BVC.
