- Collect samples of raw materials, molding sand, molten metal, and finished castings.
- Perform routine laboratory tests such as:
- Sand testing (moisture, permeability, green compression strength, compactability) Chemical analysis, Hardness testing ,Metallographic sample preparation.
- Record, analyze, and maintain accurate test reports.
- Operate, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
- Report abnormal test results to the Quality Engineer.
- Maintain records according to quality management systems (ISO).
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical,
- Metallurgy, Foundry Technology, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in a foundry laboratory preferred.
Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of foundry processes and materials.
- Understanding of laboratory testing procedures.
- Ability to operate testing instruments.
- Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word).
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
