Duty Doctor – Job Description

Location: Pollachi, Tamil Nadu
Position: Duty Doctor (MBBS)
Employment Type: Full-time / Shift-based

About the Role
We are looking for a duty doctor to support outpatient/inpatient care under the supervision of consultant physicians. This is a low-patient-volume setting, making it well suited for a candidate preparing for NEET-PG or other postgraduate entrance exams alongside clinical work.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist consultants during rounds, OPD consultations, and procedures
- Manage day-to-day patient monitoring, vitals, and basic clinical documentation
- Perform basic procedures independently (e.g., IV cannulation, dressing changes, catheterization, suturing minor wounds, injections, basic wound care) as per protocol
- Handle initial assessment of walk-in or emergency cases and escalate to the consultant as needed
- Maintain patient records, case sheets, and referral notes
- Coordinate with nursing staff and lab/pharmacy for patient care needs
- Ensure timely follow-up on consultant instructions and treatment plans




- Be available for on-call duty as per the shift roster

Requirements

- MBBS degree with valid state medical council registration
- Fresh graduates or those with up to 2–3 years of experience welcome
- Basic competency in clinical procedures and patient handling
- Good communication skills (Tamil and English)
- Willingness to work under consultant supervision and follow clinical protocols

Preferred

- Candidates preparing for or planning to appear for NEET-PG
- Prior internship/duty doctor experience in a clinic or small hospital setting

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
