Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC VMC Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in setting up and operating CNC Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), reading engineering drawings, and producing high-quality precision components while meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC VMC machines for production.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets.
- Perform tool setting, work offset setting, and fixture alignment.
- Load CNC programs and make offset corrections when required.
- Inspect machined components using Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Ensure components meet quality specifications and dimensional tolerances.
- Monitor machine performance and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Change cutting tools as required and maintain tool life records.
- Follow production schedules, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Complete production and inspection records accurately.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Turner, or a related trade.
- 1–5 years of experience as a CNC VMC Setter/Operator.
- Good knowledge of CNC VMC machines and FANUC controls.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of machining parameters, tooling, and quality inspection.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of GD&T.;
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and attention to detail.
