Who we are

Armed with diverse capabilities and a higher purpose, Defence Executive Officers and their military counterparts are integral in supporting the defence of our nation in their own way.

Our organisation

The mission of MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces is to enhance Singapore's peace and security through deterrence and diplomacy, and should these fail, to secure a swift and decisive victory over the aggressor.

Integral to MINDEF, the DXO scheme enables you to contribute towards Singapore's security as a non-uniformed defence skilled. This is an empowering and rewarding career that lets you defend our nation according to your interest and ability.

When will I find out if I am shortlisted for the positions I applied for?

You can expect to receive an email notification and/or a call from the hiring manager within two weeks from the date of your online application.





If I join MINDEF as a DXO, do I have to go for military training?

DXOs are not required to undergo military training as you will be employed in various business processes such as HR, finance and office administration, supporting the operational needs of the organisation.

Will I have to wear a uniform to work?

Although DXOs are not required to wear military uniform, their clothing and hairstyle should always be neat and decorous.

As a DXO, do I still have to fulfil my NS obligations?

Male applicants for DXO appointments must have completed their full-time National Service before they can be enlisted as DXOs. They will continue to fulfil their NS obligations during their DXO tenure.

What is the retirement age of a DXO?

DXOs will be able to work up to the prevailing national retirement age.

How often is the job vacancy list updated?
