Role Description The Cyber Security Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for protecting mDrift's systems, applications, and data, as well as supporting security needs across client projects. Day-to-day tasks include assessing security risks, implementing and monitoring security controls, performing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and responding to security incidents. The specialist will collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to embed security best practices into software design, network architecture, and deployment processes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining security documentation,



supporting compliance efforts, and keeping security policies and tools updated in line with emerging threats and industry standards.
Qualifications

- Strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to design and maintain secure systems and processes.
- Hands-on experience in Application Security, including secure coding practices, code reviews, and application vulnerability assessments.
- Proficiency in Network Security, such as configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and monitoring network traffic.
- Understanding of broader Cyber domains, including threat intelligence, incident response, and security operations.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP Top 10).
- Experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection solutions).
- Ability to analyze complex technical issues, document findings clearly, and propose practical remediation steps.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+) are a plus.
