Job Summary:

The Manager – Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for carrying out comprehensive research and presenting recommendations to senior leadership in support of Akasa Air's regulatory and policy objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and research developments in domestic, regional, and global aviation policies and regulations to assess their impact on Akasa Air operations, market access, and strategic objectives.
- Assist in drafting position papers, representations to support Akasa Air stance on regulatory and policy matters and bilateral air services negotiations.
- Keep a track of new regulations and amendments/modifications in the existing regulations proposed by MoCA and/or DGCA or other regulatory bodies and provide leadership with a clear and concise interpretation of the changes in regulations, policies supported by research findings and complex analysis.
- Conducting long term analysis of economic, political, social and airline industry trends while ensuring the assets and market position of Akasa Air such as designations, traffic rights are always safe guarded.
- Support efforts to obtain traffic rights and other regulatory approvals from the Government and regulatory bodies in India and globally.
- Support Akasa Air teams on the requests and issues related to their respective business areas from the regulatory perspective.
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with the Government, regulatory, aeronautical authorities, and industry stakeholders in India and globally.
- Prepare and maintain meeting files, regulatory proposals, advocacy submissions, presentations, reports, and briefing notes for Government, industry, and stakeholder engagements.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and forums related to policy, regulatory, and operational matters.




- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop Akasa Air positions on bilateral air services and other negotiations with the Government and regulatory bodies.
- Develop, update, and maintain documents repository and department trackers.
- Support in special projects and key assignments on a regular basis.

Desired Qualifications:

- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Management, International Relations or a related area.

Preferred work experience:

- 4-5 years of policy and regulatory affairs experience.
- Preferably in the field of regulatory/aero political/international/ Government affairs, with a solid knowledge of airline industry and operations.
- Regulatory and government affairs and engagement with regulators (MoCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI etc.)
- Detail-oriented and compliance-driven: comfortable with heavy paperwork, process-intensive work where accuracy and documentation matter as much as strategy.
- Strong learning orientation: keen to develop serious technical knowledge of aviation regulation, and all operating nuances of aviation industry.
- Dedication and ownership: willing to put in sustained, focused effort and see complex, long-cycle regulatory matters through to completion.
- Analytical and articulate: able to interpret dense regulatory material and translate it into clear advice, submissions, and stakeholder communication.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to produce correspondence, reports, presentations, and position papers.
- Full attention to detail in preparing the responses, correspondence, reports and representations.
- Solid knowledge of aeropolitics, geopolitics, industry trends and updates.
- Robust ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to air transport.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Able to handle multiple tasks at a time, with ability to sustain pressure.
