Responsibilities
- Handle and evacuate slag and skull (solidified slag) from pits to processing or dumping yards.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow strict safety protocols when working around hot slag and water systems.
- Ensure slag dumping occurs in designated areas to avoid hazards.
- Organize and manage slag pit activities to meet production schedules.
- Supervise operators, technicians, and support staff during the shift.
- Ensure smooth slag evacuation and handling from furnaces.
Requirements and skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and dewatering equipment.
- Ability to work in high-temperature, industrial environments.
- Robust focus on safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintain records of slag volumes, recovery rates, and shift activities.
