ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identification of children in need of Special Education at the center and provide them with appropriate help (i.e. Individualized Education / Remedial Plan)
- Conduct an Curriculum based assessment and review the child’s current level of functioning
- Refer the child to an external agency for Therapy, assessment and certification, if required.
- Conduct meetings with the parents, take an Intake Interview, case history.
- Refer the child to an external agency for assessment and certification, if required.
- Review and decide on the next stage based on Diagnosis of the assessment report (i.e. counseling and/or remedial.)
- Make IEP / IRP - Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned student
- Conduct remedial sessions per week for each student based on the needs.
- Regular classroom observation.
- Design worksheets / assessments for the children (IEP)
- Help appoint a Shadow Teacher for the child, if required.
- Meet regularly with the teacher,



coordinator and parent to discuss the progress of the child and also to suggest strategies to be followed in class and at home.
- Prepare guidelines and follow up regularly with the parents, counselor and shadow teacher.
- Discuss the intervention and progress of each child at the center.
- Review the progress of intervention on a regular basis to confirm the efficiency of the intervention.
- Attend meetings regarding children under intervention with (i.e. Parent, special educator and counselor meeting.)
- Attending Parent teacher meeting (i.e. PTM).
- Be a part of the admission process (i.e. refer to inclusion policy.)
- Encourage and appoint peer counselors and study buddies.
- Conduct workshops and group sessions for students, teachers, counselors, parents and shadow teachers.
- Conduct / Monitor the Morning activity for children.
- Maintaining documents with efficiency and regularity
- Be a team worker.
