Oracle ExaCC Patching Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) Patching Engineer with solid expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, and database patching. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing complete ExaCC patching lifecycles in large-scale production environments, with a strong focus on automation, troubleshooting, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute end-to-end patching activities for Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), including:
Compute Nodes
DomU Virtual Machines
Grid Infrastructure
Oracle Databases
Plan, schedule, and perform quarterly PSU/CPU, one-off, and third-party patch deployments with minimal downtime.
Execute Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) patching using the OCI Console, CLI, and REST APIs.
Manage Oracle RAC patching, including both in-place and out-of-place patching strategies while maintaining high availability.




Perform database patching in Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments.
Administer and troubleshoot Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
Automate patching processes using Shell scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and LCM Fleet Maintenance, including Gold Image creation and deployment.
Develop patch rollback plans and recovery procedures.
Perform patch impact analysis, risk assessments, and implement rollback strategies.
Troubleshoot patch failures, database issues, and post-patch problems, providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and remediation.
Coordinate patching activities with Infrastructure, Application, and Cybersecurity teams.
Maintain detailed documentation of patching procedures, standards, and schedules.
Continuously improve patching processes to reduce downtime and manual effort.
