ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist design engineers in product design and development activities based on technical specifications and market requirements.
Create and update 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs using CAD tools (#Creo).
Support engineering analysis and design feasibility studies under guidance (DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-up, basic simulations).
Work on modelling and detailing of sheet metal, copper/aluminium parts, insulation components, and assemblies.
Assist in prototype development, fabrication, and testing activities including documentation of results.
Support product validation, qualification, and certification testing as per defined standards (IEC 61439 series).
Execute engineering change requests (PCR/PCE) and maintain design documentation in PLM/PDM systems.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality) to:
Clarify drawings and specifications
Support manufacturability improvements
Resolve design-related issues during production
Assist in root cause analysis of design or field issues and implementation of corrective actions.
Support cost optimization and localization initiatives through value engineering activities.
Ensure all documentation (drawings, BOMs, test reports) is accurate and up to date
REQUIREMENTS
Hands-on experience in mechanical/electromechanical design for industrial products.
Exposure to LV equipment (Busways, Equipments, ACB/MCCB/MCB etc.) preferred.
Working knowledge of Manufacturing processes: stamping, machining, casting, molding, assembly
Familiarity with:
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Assembly (DFA)
Basic GD&T; and tolerance stack-up concepts
Experience in CAD tools (Must know CREO) and PLM/PDM systems.
Ability to work in an engineering environment with multiple stakeholders.
Positive problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
