CNC Turning Operator / Programmer

Experience description
4+ years experience in CNC turning machines for turning - heavy duty.
You have valuable experience with large heavy parts;we are only interested in experience with parts minimum of 10 tons, minimum of 1mx4, but better is 2mx8.
And only in one-off unit production - serial producers have the wrong background for this position. Experience in operating on one of the machines metnioned in roles and responsibilities, open to learn the other machines.
You can have experience from gears, but also from the mining industry, steel industry, huge pump production, turbine production and or ship production.
Experience to work with overhead crane.

Skills:
Required-
Turning - large / heavy products, > 2 meters length
Siemens Sinumerik 840D control
CNC Programming - on the machine
Boring - experience boring operation

Desired/ Open to learn-

Roles & responsibilities:
As a Machine Operator you will operate a CNC Turning Machine in our fast-paced environment.



The CNC machine operator is responsible for the production of a wide variety of precision parts. CNC Machine Operators work from written instructions and blueprints (2D) to turn parts (3D) to specifications.
Possess and apply knowledge of operations including turning, and grinding, boring and milling.
Performs checks using variety of gauges and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications.
Use common hand tools in the production and finishing of machined parts.
Operation and programming of CNC center-lathes.
Programming from blueprint and work instructions with Siemens 840D control system, on the machine.
Ensure quality parts while minimizing scrap and rework through proper in-process inspection.
Perform basic pre-staged machine set-ups, tool offsets, and edit CNC programs.
Recognize and resolves tooling wear problems.
Experience in turning large / heavy products, > 2 meters length.
Work with an overhead crane.
