Role Description We're looking for a Video Editor and YouTube Growth Manager who lives and breathes the platform — someone who understands not just how to cut a great video, but how YouTube's search and recommendation system actually works, and how to use that knowledge to make KaroStartup's channel grow month over month.

This role sits at the intersection of craft and strategy. You'll be editing videos, but you'll also be researching keywords, designing thumbnails that stop the scroll, and shaping scripts and topics around what will actually perform — not just what sounds interesting.

What You'll Do

Video Editing

Edit long-form YouTube videos (podcasts, founder story videos) and short-form content (Shorts)



to KaroStartup's storytelling standard

Apply pacing, cuts, text overlays, sound design, and visual style that keeps watch time high

Maintain a consistent, recognizable editing style across the channel

YouTube SEO & Growth

Conduct deep keyword research to identify high-search, low-competition topics and titles

Optimize titles, descriptions, tags, and metadata for maximum discoverability

Track and analyze channel analytics (CTR, watch time, audience retention, traffic sources) and turn insights into action

Own YouTube channel growth as a core KPI — subscriber growth, watch hours, and search ranking

Thumbnails

Design high-CTR thumbnails for every video, using Canva or similar tools

A/B test thumbnail concepts and iterate based on performance data

Stay on top of what's currently working in thumbnail design across the Indian business/startup content space

Script Writing & Research

Research topics, brands, and founders for video content, working closely with the founder

Write or co-write scripts that are optimized for retention — solid hooks, clear structure, no dead weight

Understand what makes a video watchable start-to-finish, not just clickable

What We're Looking For

Strong, demonstrable video editing skills (any professional tool — Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve,



CapCut)

Deep, practical knowledge of YouTube SEO — keyword research, search intent, title/thumbnail optimization

A track record or portfolio showing understanding of YouTube growth (personal channel, past client work, or freelance projects)

Strong thumbnail design sense — you understand what makes someone click

Ability to research a topic quickly and write a script that holds attention

Obsessive about YouTube analytics — you check numbers because you're genuinely curious what worked and why

Based in Bengaluru or willing to work hybrid from Bengaluru
