Hiring for Assistant Manager – Control Room Engineer (O&M;)

We are looking for enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering graduates to join our Operations & Maintenance team as Control Room Engineers . This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a highly automated bulk cargo handling terminal and gain hands-on experience in SCADA operations, material handling systems, and terminal operations.

Role Overview

As a Control Room Engineer, you will monitor and operate mechanized material handling systems, coordinate cargo movement, ensure operational efficiency, and maintain accurate records of cargo handling activities while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Control Room Operations

- Operate and monitor SCADA , stacking, reclaiming, and Dust Suppression System (DSS) operations.
- Ensure smooth operation of the mechanized material handling system for import, export, and dispatch cargo.
- Coordinate with O&M; technicians, SCR operators, and helpers for efficient system start-up, shutdown, and uninterrupted operations.
- Escalate equipment abnormalities and breakdowns to maintenance teams and Shift In-Charge.

Operational Coordination

- Coordinate with power plant control rooms for system start/stop activities and coal feeding requirements.
- Monitor bunker levels and ensure uninterrupted cargo flow.
- Work closely with Shift In-Charge, Yard Supervisors, and Equipment Operators for productive stockyard utilization and cargo reclaiming.





Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure cargo stacking in designated stockyards as per approved plans.
- Monitor cargo delivery within Delivery Order (DO) and Customs Out of Charge (OOC) limits.
- Ensure compliance with GPCB environmental norms through effective dust suppression and water sprinkling operations.
- Coordinate with security regarding entry of surveyors, client representatives, and authorized vehicles.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain accurate records of:
- Cargo discharged and delivered
- Equipment utilization and downtime
- Conveyor and mechanized system operations
- Power and fuel consumption
- DSS water consumption logs
- Vessel operation analysis reports
- Prepare shift reports and coordinate with the Cargo Documentation team for stock accounting.
- Report operational incidents and abnormalities to senior management.

Stakeholder Interaction

- Daily coordination with:
- Shift In-Charge
- Cargo Documentation Team
- Yard Supervisors
- Equipment Operators
- Power Plant Control Rooms

Qualifications & Experienc

- eB.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineerin
- g0–2 years of experienc
- eFresh graduates with relevant internships or industrial training are encouraged to apply
