Senior Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily product support; project manage key programs; technical authority in metal processes; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.

Principal Activities

- RFQ costing preparation for New Projects & NPD Products
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes and production systems.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process mapping, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation.
- Support Current Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process validation and production readiness.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to achieve operational goals.
- Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently product desired product.
- Analyse and resolve Production tooling related issues
- Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings used CAD methodology.
- Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

- 12+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience in an high precision manufacturing environment with high mix/low to mid volume product rates.



demonstrating strong expertise in process engineering, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of Tool Design (Jigs & Fixtures, Tools and Gauges) and Developments
- Extension machining background with hands-on expertise in CNC, VMC, VTL process supporting the production of close tolerance highly precision products involving various types of metal allows. CAD/CAM experience with exposure in working with NX, Solid Works or Master Cam preferred.
- Strong metal processing background, i.e., Heat Treating, Surface Finishing, Forging, Casting, etc.
- Robust Project Management Skills.
- Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, SolidWorks, CATIA and other applicable tools.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in a group problem solving situations; presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention; displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting and technology. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and designs work flows and procedures. Presents numerical data effectively.
- Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement and use of Lean and Six-Sigma resources and tools.

Education & Experience

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production or Industrial) with 5-7 years’ experience, or 13 years of equivalent experience considered
