Take an active role in the preparation and or review of R D Tax Credit calculations for clients This includes gathering relevant financial and technical data conducting thorough analyses to identify qualifying research activities and expenditures accurately documenting these findings for inclusion in R D Tax Credit claims and performing both preparation and review to ensure accuracy compliance and completeness Data Collection and Analysis Assist in the preparation and or review of financial and technical data gathered from clients to support R D Tax Credit calculations This involves meticulously analyzing the data to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant tax regulations and guidelines Responsibilities include data flattening and manipulation of time tracking hours keeping files as well as reviewing and or preparing general ledger details Documentation Prepare and or review detailed documentation of research activities and expenditures ensuring that all eligible R D expenses are properly accounted for in the calculation process Adhere to established documentation standards to support the accuracy and defensibility of R D Tax Credit claims Communication Collaborate with onshore team to address inquiries gather additional information and provide updates on the progress of R D Tax Credit calculations Maintain explicit and professional communication to ensure client satisfaction and confidence in the services provided Quality Assurance Conduct thorough reviews of R D Tax Credit calculations to verify accuracy and completeness Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the calculation preparation and review processes ensuring the integrity of the final deliverables Special Tax Projects Perform special tax projects for clients as needed which may include tax planning compliance or consulting projects beyond the scope of routine R D Tax Credit services Collaborate with team members to execute these projects effectively and meet client expectations Research and Development Stay abreast of changes in tax laws regulations and industry trends related to R D Tax Credits Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of R D Tax Credit calculation processes Performs special tax projects for clients as needed Strategic Insight Maintains awareness of general business trends and issues and applies that knowledge to client issues and solutions Qualifications 3-5 years of experience with R D tax credit work and related incentives required Bachelor s or master s degree in accounting Finance Data Analytics Business or a related field required Knowledge and SkillsWell-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles IRS regulations and R D tax credit incentives and issues Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and technical data Excellent communication skills in writing and verbally as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously meeting deadlines by setting priorities with work projects Knowledge of US tax regulations is a plus but not mandatory Proficiency in the overall Microsoft Office suite including Word and PowerPoint Ideally a power user of Excel What to Expect Next We ll be in touch If you
