Responsibilities Maintenance strategy Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy including preventive predictive and condition-based maintenance programs to maximize asset lifecycle and minimize operational costs Team leadership Lead mentor and manage a team of Deputy Managers engineers and technicians Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety efficiency and continuous improvement Root Cause Analysis RCA Lead and facilitate complex Root Cause Analysis for major mechanical failures Implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence Budget management Develop and manage the maintenance budget for the mechanical department overseeing spending on spare parts services and capital projects Vendor and contractor management Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance tasks and equipment procurement Process improvement Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical department leveraging data to drive decision-making and enhance maintenance workflows Qualifications Education Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering A Master s degree is a plus Experience 8-12 years of experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing a mechanical maintenance team Prior experience in the metals mining or recycling industry is a strong advantage Skills Expertise in CMMS reliability-centered maintenance RCM and a deep understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Strong project and budget management skills Certifications CMRP Certified Maintenance and Reliability Skilled certification is highly desirable
