Project Role Application Support Engineer Project Role Description Act as software detectives provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems Must have skills Commvault Backup Administration Good to have skills Veeam Backup and Replication Minimum 3 year s of experience is required Educational Qualification 15 years full time education Summary As an Application Support Engineer you will act as software detectives providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems Your typical day will involve collaborating with different teams analyzing system performance and ensuring that all applications run smoothly to support business operations effectively You will engage in troubleshooting activities working diligently to maintain system integrity and performance while also documenting your findings and solutions for future reference Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that the technology infrastructure meets the needs of the organization and its users Roles Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Administer configure and maintain Veeam Backup Replication and Commvault Complete Backup Recovery platforms o Design and manage backup policies job schedules retention settings and repositories for on-prem and cloud workloads o Monitor backup health troubleshoot failures and ensure timely completion of jobs o Perform test restores full restores and file-level recoveries on demand o Implement and manage backups for o VMware Hyper-V and physical machines o Cloud workloads AWS EC2 Azure VMs Microsoft 365 Azure Blob S3 etc o Databases such as SQL Server Oracle SAP HANA etc o Leverage object storage and cloud repositories for offsite long-term retention and immutability o Ensure integration with cloud-native platforms for disaster recovery and long-term archiving o Implement encryption air-gapped backups immutability and access control policies o Support audits data retention GDPR HIPAA and other regulatory requirements o Ensure backups comply with corporate security standards and disaster recovery policies o Create automation scripts e g PowerShell Bash or REST APIs for backup tasks and reporting o Optimize storage consumption and backup windows through deduplication compression and tuning o Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning o Use native monitoring tools e g Veeam ONE Commvault Command Center to track job status alerts and SLA compliance o Produce regular reports on backup success rates recovery points and capacity utilization o Maintain detailed documentation of backup architecture policies and procedures o 1 5 years hands-on experience with Veeam and Commvault in medium to large-scale environments o Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments Azure AWS etc Professional Technical Skills o Backup Tools Veeam Backup Replication Veeam ONE Commvault CommServe MediaAgent Command Center o Virtualization VMware vSphere Hyper-V o Cloud Platforms AWS EC2 S3 Azure VMs Blob Microsoft 365 backup o OS Apps Windows Linux SQL Server Oracle Exchange SharePoint o Automation PowerShell Bash Commvault Veeam APIs o Storage Integration NAS SAN Object Storage S3 Azure Blob Tape o Monitoring Veeam ONE Commvault Alerts SolarWinds optional o Security Backup encryption RBAC MFA immutable backups o Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities o Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams o Excellent documentation and communication skills o Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk mitigation o Veeam Certified Engineer VMCE o Commvault Certified Professional Engineer o Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate o AWS Certified SysOps Administrator o ITIL Foundation Certification Additional Information - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise backup administration - This position is based at our Bengaluru office - A 15 years full time education is required 15 years full time education
