About the Role
The Accounts Executive –Accounts & GL Compliance will be responsible for managing the Company's accounting, month-end closing, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and maintenance of the General Ledger. The role requires a finance professional with solid exposure to treasury, accounting, taxation, reconciliations, and audit coordination.
The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in treasury management and general accounting, ensuring timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Accounting
- Maintain complete and accurate General Ledger accounting records.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end adjustments.
- Perform month-end and year-end financial closing activities within reporting timelines.
- Prepare schedules supporting financial statements.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Review accounting entries to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and process depreciation.
Reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations including:
- Bank Accounts
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Intercompany Accounts
- Loans
- Fixed Deposits
- Fixed Assets
- Accruals & Provisions
- Employee Advances
- Other Balance Sheet Accounts
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and reconcile GST/VAT returns.
- Prepare Income Tax schedules and support tax return preparation.
- Reconcile statutory returns with accounting records.
- Coordinate timely payment of taxes and statutory dues.
- Support tax audits and respond to tax authority queries.
Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Prepare cash flow statements.
- Prepare management reports, flash reports, KPI reports, and variance analysis.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide analytical reports to support management decision-making.
Audit & Compliance
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Maintain proper documentation for statutory audits and regulatory inspections.
- Assist in implementing audit recommendations.
Banking & Compliance
- Maintain banking documentation including KYC, bank mandates, and authorized signatory updates.
- Prepare documents for bank facilities, guarantees, letters of credit, and financing arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with banking covenants and reporting requirements.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Operations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Procurement, and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Support finance process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects assigned by management.
Treasury Management
- Prepare cheques, telegraphic transfers (TTs), bank drafts, and online fund transfers in accordance with company policies.
- Manage daily cash flow requirements and monitor liquidity to ensure adequate funding for business operations.
- Handle inter-bank and inter-company fund transfers.
- Process payroll payments, employee reimbursements, final settlements, and other treasury-related payments.
- Liaise with banks for banking operations, financing requirements, documentation, and resolution of banking matters.
- Administer short-term and long-term loans, including interest calculations, repayment schedules, covenant monitoring, and supporting documentation.
- Manage placement and renewal of Fixed Deposits/Term Deposits and monitor accrued interest.
- Open, maintain, and reconcile bank accounts and maintain relationships with banking partners.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- MBA Finance / CA Inter / ACCA / CPA (Part-qualified or Qualified) will be an advantage.
- Minimum 1.5 - 3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting and Treasury would be added advantage.
- Experience in month-end closing and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of GST/VAT, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Exposure to external audit and financial statement preparation will be preferred.
- Experience in ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, NetSuite, Sage, etc.) will be an advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query is an advantage).

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have practical exposure to General Ledger accounting and Treasury would be an advantage , with the ability to independently manage banking operations, month-end financial close, statutory compliance, tax reconciliations, audits, and financial reporting. Experience in a multi-company or multinational environment and exposure to ERP systems will be an added advantage.
