About the Role We are looking for a skilled and proactive PostgreSQL Database Administrator with 3-7 years of hands-on experience to join our IT team The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments ensuring optimal performance reliability and security Key Responsibilities Install configure and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development testing and production environments Monitor database performance and proactively optimize slow-running queries and processes Ensure regular backups perform restores and participate in disaster recovery planning Implement security best practices for data protection and access control Support database-related requests from development and application teams e g schema changes stored procedures performance tuning Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly Automate routine tasks using scripting or tools to improve operational efficiency Maintain up-to-date documentation of database systems configurations and procedures Required Skills 3-7 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL database administration Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture configuration and administration Proficiency in SQL and PL pgSQL including writing and optimizing queries Experience with backup and recovery tools Familiarity with performance tuning indexing and query optimization Experience with Linux-based environments and basic shell scripting Understanding of database security user roles and access controls Familiarity with monitoring tools like pgAdmin pg stat statements or Grafana Prometheus Exposure to replication and high availability configurations e g streaming replication Patroni Experience in handling large volume data Must have experience working in the telecom domain Positive to Have Experience with cloud platforms e g AWS RDS Azure or GCP PostgreSQL Knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker Ansible or CI CD systems Experience working in Agile Scrum environments Basic knowledge of other database systems like MySQL MongoDB or Oracle Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field Job Type Contractual Temporary Pay 1 000 000 00 - 2 200 000 00 per year Work Location In person
