About The Job Kwalee has been making the most fun games for the world s players for over a decade By joining our talented team you ll be part of a space where ideas flow freely innovation flourishes and team spirit stays strong We ve found that when we re all together great things happen With over 1 billion players already reached your work will contribute to our shared mission of making the most fun games for the world s players Join the team Kwalee s Legal team are looking for a commercially focused Legal Counsel based in our Bangalore studio working on site 5 days per week The Legal Counsel will have experience working as an in-house counsel in a fast paced environment and a solid background in managing commercial contracts Role Purpose Oversee manage commercial contracts between Kwalee and external partners Oversee Kwalee s IP and protect it against all known infringements Assist and advise in all general legal matters including commercial agreements employment law trademarks patents and IP protection Support the implementation of new procedures across the organisation Responsibilities Oversee manage commercial contracts between Kwalee and external partners Maintain an up to date log of all legal takedown activity Proactively seek out games and other works which infringe Kwalee IP Work closely with external and internal lawyers and game platform holders stores to take down infringing works by whatever means at our disposal including issuing cease and desists and communicating with infringers Build a strong relationship with internal development teams and the 3rd party publishing team to build solid cases for the takedown of clones and other infringers Oversee and manage any research staff assigned to you to help find infringing works Manage and oversee Kwalee s trademarks and define the strategy for additional trademarks for the company and its products Assist in all legal matters and agreements working closely with external legal partners Carry out legal due diligence on all Kwalee developed games and those acquired by the 3rd party publishing team to ensure they don t infringe other works Help defend Kwalee against any legal action claims of infringement trademark and patents Keep abreast of all important areas of law relating to the business with a particular focus on IP trademarks and patents Present important legal findings to management and other team members as necessary Provide any other legal advise requirements as the business needs Requirements Proven experience as In-House Counsel ideally within a high-growth or fast-paced environment A background in drafting negotiating and managing a diverse range of commercial agreements A solid understanding of IP law ideally with practical experience in its application and protection Be a qualified Legal Professional with a degree in Law Compensation Benefits The design of our compensation and benefits revolves around a people-first philosophy We have a supportive environment with a strong focus on development and wellbeing In structuring benefits across our offices we adhere to core principles and align with local standards Salaries are fairly benchmarked in accordance with background and skills against industry and location standards Our Talent Acquisition team will share more details with you as you progress in the recruitment process They re eager to connect with you and can t wait to have a conversation
