This role is for one of Weekday s clients Min Experience 5 years Location Bengaluru JobType full-time Requirements We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with proven expertise in Java and ReactJS to join our growing engineering team The ideal candidate will bring strong backend development expertise complemented by frontend skills to build scalable secure and high-performing applications You will be responsible for designing and developing backend services APIs and database layers while also contributing to frontend features using ReactJS This role requires a collaborative problem solver who thrives in Agile environments and can deliver reliable production-grade solutions Key Responsibilities Application Development Design develop and maintain scalable web applications using Java Spring Boot Hibernate and modern frontend technologies like ReactJS Write clean maintainable and reusable code aligned with best practices Database API Management Design manage and optimize relational databases SQL Develop RESTful APIs and integrate them with internal and external systems System Optimization Security Ensure high performance scalability and security across applications Proactively troubleshoot and debug issues in production and staging environments Testing Deployment Implement unit testing integration testing and automated testing frameworks Contribute to CI CD pipelines to streamline code integration and deployment Collaboration Agile Practices Work closely with product managers designers and other engineers in cross-functional teams Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning reviews and retrospectives Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where required Required Skills Experience Backend Development 5 years of experience in backend development with strong emphasis on Java Spring Boot and Hibernate Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs Solid understanding of SQL databases database design and query optimization Frontend Development Hands-on experience with ReactJS or Angular HTML5 CSS3 and JavaScript Ability to contribute to frontend features and build seamless integrations with backend services Software Engineering Practices Strong knowledge of Git GitHub version control Familiarity with Test-Driven Development TDD and automation frameworks Exposure to CI CD pipelines DevOps practices and cloud environments Problem Solving Collaboration Strong analytical and debugging skills Excellent teamwork interpersonal and communication abilities Ability to work independently while also thriving in cooperative team settings Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field BE BTech MCA Master s degree preferred Relevant certifications in Java ReactJS or cloud technologies are an added advantage
