Tasks About MBRDI Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India MBRDI headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune is the largest R D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering digitalization and sustainable mobility solutions shaping the future of mobility Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India is seeking a Sr Technical Lead with a strong technical background in BIW repair and spare parts documentation in GCSP After Sales domain What is GCSP GCSP is the bridge between RD and retailers that defines and ensures the wellness of every vehicle ever produced until its entire lifecycle and till it becomes a classic GCSP affects our retailers workshops directly and ensures customer satisfaction throughout their vehicle use experience Overall GCSP generates more than 30 revenue for the entire organization For this every component of every vehicle needs to be rightly understood to define the best ways it can be assessed in the workshop environment for service and maintenance Technical understanding of entire vehicle systems in relation to the way it was designed and the environment it will be manufactured assembled sold and maintained is very important Job Overview You will be responsible for defining repair methods for BIW parts for accident repairs and maintenance of vehicles and defining and documenting spare parts for the related components You will be working closely with colleagues from R D of BIW and workshop for defining the best ways to repair vehicles Key Responsibilities You will be accountable for the BIW repairs projects involved in Parts Information topic Additionally you carry responsibility for committed projects resource-planning and aligning work with respect to the department strategy maintaining Quality Cost Time You will need to ensure KPI of the projects are monitored tracked and targets achieved as per yearly agreements QMS standards are followed tracked and monitored on regular basis You will have to connect with all stakeholders regularly for partner engagement and when required escalation management You will be expected to participate in Innovation and continuous improvement activities You should be improving your competency overtime Required Skills Experience You are a domain expertise in BIW components and connecting elements design You hold expertise in UG NX in surfacing sheet metal joining elements workbench and Team Centre You are also an expert in Engineering change management and release documentation along with having knowledge of variants control and BOM management You hold a working experience in after sales relevant exposure on BIW repairs performed at body shop workshop Demonstrate best optimized BIW repair methods by comparing the same with latest manufacturing or assembling of BIW panels at the manufacturing plant Knowhow about various panel joining technologies should be visible from your deliverables You should be well versed with Spare Parts manufacturing ordering and logistics Your deep understanding of Product Development process in series and aftersales influences faster decision making by headquarters in Germany Having hand-on experience for assembling and dismantling the parts in vehicle will be helpful Thanks to your communicative strength and assertiveness you are able to lead discussions on technical feasibility of BIW repairs manufacturing techniques with various junior and senior colleagues Your awareness of QMS standards and experience in CAD methodology Norms DBL standards and Tools is added advantage Knowledge of German language and previous international experience is an added advantage Qualifications Education Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering Automobile Engineering or a closely related technical discipline Additional certifications in automotive repair technologies product development or quality management systems will be an advantage Positive to Have Proficiency in the German language to facilitate communication with international teams Previous international work experience in automotive engineering or aftersales Familiarity with digital engineering tools like CAD software PLM systems and simulation tools Knowledge of sustainability practices and remanufacturing processes in the automotive sector Experience in cross-functional collaboration within global or matrix organizations Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement Why Join Us Be part of a purpose-driven organization that is shaping the future of mobility Work on cutting-edge technologies and global projects Thrive in a collaborative diverse and inclusive environment Access world-class infrastructure and continuous learning opportunities Equal Opportunity Statement At MBRDI we are committed to diversity and inclusion We welcome applications from all qualified individuals regardless of gender background or ability
