Role & responsibilities

Job description

1. Strategic Procurement & Planning

- Develop and execute procurement strategy aligned with project schedules and budgets.
- Forecast material requirements based on BOQ, engineering revisions, and drawings.
- Identify critical long-lead items and ensure timely ordering to avoid project delays.
- Create project-specific procurement budgets and cost control initiatives.

2. Technical Evaluation & Coordination

- Review and interpret technical specifications, data sheets, and engineering standards.
- Coordinate effectively with Design, Engineering, Quality, and Inspection teams.
- Prepare technical suitability assessments and comparative statements.
- Resolve technical queries between vendors and internal teams to avoid miscommunication.

3. Negotiation & Cost Optimization

- Negotiate pricing, warranty, AMC, spares, and service terms.
- Undertake costbenefit analysis covering logistics, customs, installation, etc.
- Initiate cost-saving strategies such as bulk buying, rate contracts, and framework agreements.
