Position Title: Manager / Assistant Manager Purchase

Job Purpose:

The Manager/Assistant Manager Purchase will be responsible for the strategic procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for EOT crane manufacturing. The role involves vendor development, cost control, timely procurement, and compliance with company standards and delivery schedules.

Preferred candidate profile

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, manage, and execute all procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery terms with suppliers to optimize procurement cost.
- Issue purchase orders and track order status, delivery schedules, and invoices.
- Work closely with the Design, Production, Stores, and Accounts departments to align procurement with project timelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material availability, and alternate sourcing.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels in coordination with the stores and warehouse teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement processes and documentation standards.




- Address non-conformance issues with vendors and take corrective actions.
- Prepare reports on procurement KPIs, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical/electrical components used in crane manufacturing.
- Familiarity with sourcing fabrication items, motors, gearboxes, panels, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical) or Commerce.
- Postgraduate qualification in Materials Management / Supply Chain will be an advantage.
- Minimum 68 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in a crane or heavy engineering/manufacturing industry.
- Candidates with experience in EOT crane manufacturing will be given preference.
