We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage cost structures, profitability analysis, budget controls, and MIS reporting for our Bulk Liquid Transport operations.

The role will focus on tanker-wise costing, route profitability, maintenance cost analysis, fuel control, branch cost monitoring, and management decision support.

For transport businesses, cost accounting is critical across fuel, fleet maintenance, tyres, manpower, route economics, warehousing, and overhead allocation

Key Responsibilities

A. Costing & Profitability

- Prepare vehicle-wise / tanker-wise cost sheets.
- Analyze route-wise, customer-wise, branch-wise profitability.
- Calculate cost per KM, cost per trip, cost per KL transported, and asset utilization cost.
- Track fixed vs variable cost trends.

B. Fleet & Operations Cost Control

- Monitor fuel consumption, mileage variance, fuel pilferage indicators.
- Analyze TYRE cost, breakdown cost, maintenance cost, spare parts trends.
- Evaluate idle fleet cost and downtime losses.
- Review detention / waiting time losses.

C. Budgeting & Forecasting

- Prepare annual budgets for branches, fleet maintenance, admin, and operations.




- Monthly variance analysis against budget.
- Forecast cash flow impact of major expenses and capex.

D. Inventory & Stores Control

- Control spare parts inventory valuation and consumption analysis.
- Monitor reorder levels, dead stock, non-moving inventory.
- Ensure proper stock accounting and reconciliation.

E. MIS & Management Reporting

- Prepare monthly cost MIS, dashboards, profitability statements.
- Present data to management for pricing decisions and cost improvements.
- Support tender pricing and customer rate negotiations through cost data.

F. Compliance & Audit

- Maintain cost records and supporting schedules.
- Assist statutory audit, internal audit, GST audit, and management review.
- Ensure financial discipline and process compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification

- CMA / ICWA Mandatory

Experience

- Fresher willing to take up the challenge will also be considered.
- Working experience in Cost Accounting / MIS / Commercial Finance
- Experience in Logistics / Transport / Fleet will be a huge advantage
