A. Technical & Design Responsibilities
Own the complete design lifecycle: requirement analysis concept design detailed engineering validation production documentation.
Create and approve 3D models, assemblies, detailed manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
Ensure designs meet performance parameters across:
Ultrasonic cleaning technology
Mechanical design of tanks, chambers, structures, piping, jigs & fixtures
Electrical & instrumentation integration
Surface treatment process requirements
Conduct design reviews with cross-functional teams.
Ensure manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and safety (DFA, FMEA).
Maintain a strong library of standard designs, modules, and sub-assemblies for reusability.
B. Process & Productivity
Establish and enforce design standards, templates, and quality guidelines.
Define and streamline workflows within the Design Department.
Introduce automation in repetitive design tasks where possible.
Reduce design cycle time through modularization and standardization.
Implement systematic document control and revision management.
C. Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with:
Sales for technical proposals and preliminary layouts
Project Execution for understanding customer requirements
Production to resolve manufacturability issues
QC to ensure compliance
Procurement for component optimization and vendor alignment
Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and design clarifications.
D. People Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the design engineering team.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery.
Conduct performance reviews and facilitate continuous skill development.
Maintain a culture of precision, discipline,
and engineering excellence.
E. Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to reduce cost through design changes.
Implement Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and value engineering practices.
Benchmark Ralsonics products against global competitors and update designs accordingly.
Drive innovation in new product development and system architecture.
A. Required Technical Skill & Competencies
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Robust command over SolidWorks (mandatory), AutoCAD.
Deep understanding of mechanical design, structural design, and sheet metal fabrication.
Familiarity with:
Ultrasonic technology (advantage)
Pumping systems, filtration systems, piping
PLC/electrical integration
Heat transfer principles
Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
B. Managerial Skills
5 12 years of experience in design engineering; minimum 2 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong project management capabilities.
Excellent communication skills ability to explain technical topics clearly.
High ownership, discipline, and problem-solving ability.

Senior Design Engineer
Ralsonics is a leading manufacturer of advanced ultrasonic cleaning and industrial surface treatment systems. We pride ourselves on engineering excellence, building highly reliable, precision-engineered solutions for diverse industrial sectors.
The Role We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Design Engineer to act as the execution backbone of our engineering department.
Your primary responsibility is to take complex 3D models created by our senior designers and translate them into flawless, manufacturing-ready 2D drawings. You will also prepare critical ancillary documents like P&IDs; and facility layouts. Additionally, you will be given complete ownership of designing smaller, standard cleaning machines from initial concept to final production release.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed Drafting (SolidWorks): Convert 3D assemblies and parts into comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawings. Ensure all tolerances, weld symbols, and Bills of Materials (BOM) are perfectly accurate for the fabrication floor.
Ancillary Documentation (AutoCAD): Prepare and maintain essential project layouts, including facility placement drawings and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
Small Machine Ownership: Independently manage the end-to-end design of standard, smaller-scale ultrasonic cleaners. You will handle the 3D modeling, 2D detailing, and production release for these units.
Engineering Support: Work closely with the manufacturing team to clarify drawing details, troubleshoot shop-floor assembly queries, and update models based on practical feedback.
What We Are Looking For
5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting (experience in sheet metal, capital equipment, or industrial manufacturing is highly preferred).
High proficiency in SolidWorks (both 3D modeling and 2D detailing) and AutoCAD (2D layouts).
A meticulous eye for detail; you understand that a missing dimension or incorrect tolerance on a drawing brings the production floor to a halt.
BE/DME with 5 to 6 years of Design experience with SPM design/Automation products design, Software 3D & Solid Works.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
