Backend Developer (Node.js)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with 4+ years of hands-on expertise in Node.js to join our growing engineering team at Infithra. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in designing RESTful APIs, building scalable microservices, and developing secure, cloud-native applications. You will collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable, enterprise-grade software that scales.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
- Build and optimize high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Architect maintainable backend systems with a focus on scalability and reliability.
- Integrate backend services with frontend applications and third-party platforms.
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and API response times.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization flows using JWT and OAuth2.
- Work with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code in alignment with coding standards.
- Develop unit tests and actively participate in integration and performance testing.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployments.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to maintain system reliability.




- Mentor junior developers and champion engineering best practices across the team.
- Build and maintain background job pipelines and scheduled tasks (BullMQ, node-cron).
- Work on third-party integrations (e.g. NetSuite ERP, Firebase push, AWS Cognito).
- Ensure numeric precision and time zone correctness in payroll and attendance logic.

Required Skills

Technical

- 4+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong expertise in Node.js with Express.js or NestJS.
- Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Solid experience designing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
- Robust knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Hands-on experience with Sequelize.
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Experience with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Solid understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT,OAuth2).
- Knowledge of caching strategies and performance optimization techniques.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub-based workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Strong grasp of SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, and software design best practices.




- Experience writing unit, integration, and API-level tests.

- Event-Driven / Queue-Based Architecture building asynchronous workflows using message queues and background job processing.
- ERP / Third-Party Integrations hands-on experience integrating with platforms like NetSuite or similar enterprise systems.
- Browser Automation using Playwright for automated PDF/document generation or headless workflows.
- Push Notifications experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging or similar notification services.
- Open-Source Contributions active contributions to open-source projects or a strong public GitHub presence.
