Role Summary

The Manager Testing & Commissioning (T&C;) is responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of testing and commissioning activities for all critical data center systems. The role ensures that electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure systems are installed, tested, and validated to meet design specifications, reliability standards, and client requirements before handover.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Solid knowledge of MEP systems in data centers (UPS, DG, HVAC, BMS, Fire).
- Expertise in commissioning processes (L1L5, IST, FAT/SAT).
- Ability to review engineering designs, drawings, and control logic.
- Strong project management, risk management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning & Strategy

- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules aligned with project timelines.
- Define acceptance criteria, test scripts, and methodology for commissioning.
- Ensure commissioning requirements are considered during design and construction phases.

2. Execution of Testing & Commissioning

- Lead pre-commissioning, functional testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
- Oversee commissioning of:
- Electrical systems (HT/LT panels, UPS, DG, switchgear)
- HVAC / cooling systems
- ELV/BMS/IBMS systems
- Fire & safety systems

- Validate system performance under normal and failure scenarios (redundancy testing).

Project & Stakeholder Coordination

- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, and client teams to execute T&C; activities.
- Interface with commissioning agents (CxA), project managers, and OEMs.
- Lead client inspections, witnessing, and approvals during commissioning.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Validate compliance with design specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor risks and implement corrective and preventive actions during commissioning.

5. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare and review:
- Commissioning reports
- Test records and checklists
- Punch lists and closure reports
- As-built documentation

- Ensure proper documentation for handover and audit readiness.

6. Team Leadership

- Lead and manage commissioning engineers and site teams.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring.
- Drive productivity, timelines, and quality deliverables.

7. Handover & Operations Support

- Ensure smooth system handover to operations/facility teams.
- Conduct training for operations staff on system functionality and maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Typically 815+ years of experience in T&C; or MEP commissioning, with data center project exposure.
- Experience handling mission-critical / hyperscale data centers is desirable.
