Role Overview
The Business Head will serve as the senior-most executive responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of company's business operations. This is a high-impact, full-ownership role encompassing P&L; accountability, client growth, team leadership, and service excellence. The incumbent will act as the face of the firm with key clients and stakeholders, while simultaneously driving operational rigour and commercial outcomes internally.
Key Responsibilities
1. P&L; Management & Financial Accountability
- Own and manage the full P&L; of the business unit, including revenue, margins, cost optimisation, and EBITDA targets
- Build and execute annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in alignment with organisational growth goals
- Drive revenue growth through a diversified mix of retainer, project-based, and outcome-linked engagements
- Monitor and analyse financial performance dashboards, identifying deviations and instituting corrective measures
- Establish and manage pricing strategies, commercial frameworks, and profitability benchmarks across service lines
- Ensure efficient utilisation of resources, manage working capital, and control overhead to maximise operational leverage
2. Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day business operations across all practice areas, ensuring quality delivery and client satisfaction
- Design and implement scalable operating models, delivery frameworks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Build a culture of operational excellence driving process discipline, turnaround efficiency, and delivery metrics
- Manage resource planning, capacity allocation, and productivity norms across consulting teams
- Establish governance mechanisms including management reviews, reporting cadences, and accountability frameworks
- Lead risk identification and mitigation across operational, financial,
and client-related risk domains
3. Business Strategy & Growth
- Define and articulate the long-term strategic vision and annual operating plan for the business
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging client segments, and adjacent service offerings to drive diversified growth
- Lead competitive analysis, market positioning, and go-to-market strategy for existing and new service lines
- Build and nurture a strong pipeline through strategic partnerships, alliances, and key account development
- Champion innovation and thought leadership — positioning Leadspire as a trusted advisor and knowledge leader
- Evaluate and pursue inorganic growth opportunities including partnerships, collaborations, and strategic tie-ups
4. Client Relationship Management
- Build and manage a robust network of relationships across government ministries, departments, autonomous bodies, and regulatory authorities
- Represent Leadspire in high-level government forums, policy consultations, inter-departmental working groups, and public sector conferences
- Engage proactively with nodal agencies, empanelment bodies, and procurement authorities to strengthen Leadspire's presence in the government ecosystem
- Monitor evolving government policy, schemes, and programme priorities to identify new consulting opportunities aligned to national and state agendas
- Report to the Managing Director / Founder with regular updates on business performance, pipeline, risks, and government engagement outcomes
- Partner with enabling functions — Finance, Legal, Technology, and Compliance — to ensure adherence to all government contracting, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Represent the firm in board reviews and strategic planning exercises, with particular emphasis on B2G growth strategy
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree from a reputed institution; background.
- Additional certifications in leadership, consulting, or business management are advantageous
- Experience
- 12–20 years of progressive experience in management consulting, professional services, or a business leadership role
- Minimum 5 years of direct P&L; ownership and business head responsibility in a consulting or services environment
- Demonstrated track record of scaling businesses, building high-performing teams, and delivering consistent commercial results
- Exposure to working with diverse client sectors including BFSI, technology, manufacturing, and consumer industries
