Role & responsibilities
.NET Application Development
- Develop and maintain web applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Blazor.
- Build custom business portals, SaaS products, workflow systems, dashboards, and administrative applications.
- Convert approved requirements, user stories, and UI/UX designs into working application features.
- Develop clean, reusable, testable, and maintainable code.
- Follow established application architecture, coding standards, naming conventions, and development processes.
- Work across frontend, backend, API, and database layers.
- Support the modernization and enhancement of existing .NET applications.
- Diagnose and resolve application defects, performance problems, and production issues.
Blazor Development
- Build interactive user interfaces using Blazor Server and/or Blazor WebAssembly.
- Develop reusable Razor components.
- Implement forms, validation, routing, navigation, tables, dashboards, filters, and role-based screens.
- Manage component lifecycle, application state, event handling, and user interactions.
- Integrate Blazor components with backend services and APIs.
- Implement responsive layouts across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Diagnose rendering, state-management, performance, and component-reusability issues.
- Work with approved Blazor UI component libraries where appropriate.
Backend and API Development
- Develop REST APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Implement business logic, validation rules, service layers, and data-access layers.
- Integrate applications with third-party APIs and external systems.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.
- Develop file-upload, notification, reporting, scheduled-processing, and background-service functionality.
- Maintain clear separation between presentation, business, service, and data layers.
- Follow secure coding practices when handling user data, application credentials, and integrations.
Database Development
- Work with PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
- Design and modify database tables, relationships, constraints, indexes, and queries.
- Use Entity Framework Core for data access and migrations.
- Write efficient LINQ and SQL queries.
- Diagnose basic database and query performance issues.
- Maintain data integrity and follow secure data-handling practices.
- Work with stored procedures when required by existing applications.
Requirements and Business Context
- Review complete requirements, workflows, acceptance criteria, UI designs, and technical documentation before starting development.
- Understand the business purpose of a feature rather than coding only from the immediate ticket.
- Ask questions when requirements, workflows, designs, or expected outcomes are unclear.
- Identify missing scenarios, edge cases, dependencies, conflicting requirements, and technical risks.
- Consider user roles, permissions, workflow stages, validation rules, empty states, error conditions, and exceptions.
- Participate in requirement-review, estimation, and technical-planning discussions.
- Raise concerns before development begins when a proposed solution may create technical or usability problems.
AI-Assisted Development
- Be well-versed in Cursor or a comparable AI-assisted coding platform, such as Claude Code, or a similar tool.
- Use AI tools to understand and navigate existing codebases, create implementation plans, generate and refactor code, debug issues, write tests, review code, and create technical documentation.
- Use AI effectively across multiple files and application layers, including UI, APIs, business logic, and database work.
- Review, understand, test, and validate all AI-generated code before using it.
- Ensure AI-generated output follows project architecture, coding standards, security requirements, and business rules.
- Explain every part of submitted code, regardless of whether AI tools were used.
- Candidates who use AI tools only for basic code completion or copy-and-paste code generation will not be considered proficient.
Quality Assurance and Self-Testing
- Test completed work before submitting it to the QA team.
- Follow the company development checklist and definition-of-done requirements.
- Verify business rules, validations, permissions, error handling, and responsive behavior.
- Test positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios.
- Write unit and integration tests where appropriate.
- Resolve defects identified during internal QA, user acceptance testing, and client review.
- Perform root-cause analysis rather than applying temporary fixes.
- Confirm that changes do not introduce regressions into existing functionality.
- Review application logs and error details when troubleshooting issues.
Documentation and Collaboration
- Document important technical decisions, configurations, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Provide clear implementation notes for completed features.
- Maintain accurate task status, time entries,
and progress updates in the company project-management system.
- Participate in code reviews and respond constructively to feedback.
- Work closely with project managers, business analysts, technical architects, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and other developers.
- Communicate blockers, risks, and delays early.
- Participate in demonstrations, planning sessions, technical discussions, and client-related meetings when required.
- Collaborate professionally with India-based team members and US-based stakeholders.
