As a Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer, you'll join a team responsible for designing, operating, and modernizing large-scale enterprise virtualization platforms built on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). You will work alongside experts across Networking, Storage, Security, Cloud, Backup, Windows, Linux, and Application teams to deliver secure, resilient, and highly available infrastructure that supports critical business workloads.

In this role, you'll play a key part in driving infrastructure transformation initiatives, leading VMware Cloud Foundation lifecycle management, and executing enterprise-wide upgrades to VCF 9.x. You'll have opportunities to influence platform architecture, automate operational processes, improve service reliability, and contribute to infrastructure standardization across production, disaster recovery, and non-production environments.

What You'll Do

- Lead the administration, support, and optimization of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX environments.
- Manage VMware infrastructure across production, disaster recovery (DR), and non-production environments, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure lifecycle management activities using VMware SDDC Manager and Lifecycle Manager (LCM).
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and validation of enterprise upgrades for:
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
- VMware vCenter Server
- VMware ESXi
- VMware vSAN
- VMware NSX

- Drive VMware Cloud Foundation upgrades to VCF 9.x, ensuring minimal business disruption and adherence to enterprise governance processes.
- Monitor platform health, perform capacity planning, optimize performance, and implement infrastructure standardization initiatives.
- Manage VMware backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication and enterprise backup integrations.
- Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, PowerCLI,



and VMware APIs to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.
- Lead troubleshooting of critical infrastructure incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive improvements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Networking, Storage, Security, Cloud, Windows, Linux, Backup, and Application teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
- Participate in change management, maintenance planning, infrastructure governance, and operational reviews.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, upgrade runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational documentation.

What You'll Need

- 10-14 years of overall experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, with deep expertise in VMware technologies.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) in large enterprise environments.
- Strong experience administering VMware vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX-T, SDDC Manager, and Lifecycle Manager (LCM).
- Proven experience managing enterprise VMware environments with 100+ ESXi hosts.
- Hands-on experience planning and executing production upgrades for VMware Cloud Foundation, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX, including VCF 9.x upgrade projects.
- Experience with VMware backup and recovery solutions, particularly Veeam Backup & Replication.
- Robust scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, PowerCLI, and VMware APIs.
- Experience driving infrastructure modernization, operational excellence, and automation initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working within enterprise change management and infrastructure governance processes.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional technical teams.
