Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to identify legal issues, assess risks, and develop appropriate legal strategies.
- Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, petitions, written statements, replies, rejoinders, affidavits, applications, legal notices, agreements, opinions, and other legal documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist in the drafting of case strategies and preparation of litigation briefs for matters before various courts, tribunals, labour authorities, and quasi-judicial forums.
- Carry out minute scrutiny and detailed review of legal documents, contracts, pleadings, evidence, and supporting records to ensure legal accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain complete case files, litigation records, legal documentation, and document repositories in both physical and electronic formats.
- Coordinate the filing of cases, pleadings, applications, appeals, and other documents before courts, tribunals, and statutory authorities, ensuring adherence to procedural requirements and prescribed timelines.
- Liaise with advocates, court clerks, government departments, and statutory authorities regarding filing, listings, compliance, and case status.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather facts, evidence, records, and other information required for effective case preparation and legal representation.
- Track court hearings, maintain litigation calendars, monitor limitation periods, and ensure timely compliance with court directions and statutory deadlines.
- Assist in preparing legal opinions, compliance notes, case summaries, and management reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of all legal matters, client information, and sensitive documentation.
Desired Candidate Profile
- LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university. LL.M. will be an added advantage.
- 25 years of post-qualification experience as an Advocate or Legal Associate, preferably in litigation.
- Strong knowledge of civil laws, criminal laws, labour and employment laws, commercial laws, procedural laws, and legal drafting.
- Hands-on experience in drafting legal documents, pleadings, legal notices, agreements, and court filings.
- Familiarity with court procedures, e-filing systems, litigation management, and legal documentation practices.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, research, and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research databases will be preferred.
