Job Purpose
NOC L2 Engineers are responsible for carrying out monitoring operations as well configuring network and telecommunication equipment in datacenter and other organizations.
Provide 247 Level-2 operational support for Data Center, COLO, and Cloud infrastructure by performing advanced incident troubleshooting, service restoration, and operational maintenance. Ensure high availability of network and infrastructure services through proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, timely escalation, and coordination with L1, L3, vendors, and customer teams in accordance with SLA and ITIL processes.
Role Description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 247 Level-2 operational support for Data Center, COLO, and Cloud infrastructure environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for network, compute, storage, virtualization, and infrastructure incidents.
- Resolve escalated incidents from NOC L1 within agreed SLA and OLA timelines.
- Support day-to-day operations of enterprise and Data Center LAN, WAN, Internet, MPLS, VPN, and cloud network connectivity.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless infrastructure, IB switches.
- Administer and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs, VRRP/HSRP, LACP, and MPLS.
- Support Data Center Spine-Leaf, VXLAN/EVPN (where applicable), and high-availability network architectures.
- Support load balancing technologies such as F5 BIG-IP, Radware, NGINX, or equivalent Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs).
- Monitor infrastructure health, network performance, utilization trends, and service availability using enterprise NMS platforms.
- Analyze recurring incidents, identify problem trends, and recommend preventive actions.
- Execute operational runbooks and standard maintenance activities,
including software upgrades, patch validation, failover testing, and recovery procedures.
- Participate in Major Incident Management (MIM), technical bridge calls, and service restoration activities.
- Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, carriers, cloud providers, and internal engineering teams for issue resolution.
- Manage Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Request records in accordance with ITIL processes.
- Maintain technical documentation, Support ISO Audits, operational procedures, network diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
- Perform capacity monitoring, performance analysis, and infrastructure health assessments.
- Support planned maintenance activities and validate services before and after implementation.
- Mentor NOC L1 engineers by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and knowledge transfer.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, security policies, and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Qualifications and Experience
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (degree, training, or certification required)
BE/B-Tech or equivalent with Computer Science or Electronics & Communication
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: (No. Of years of technical, functional, and/or leadership experience or specific exposure required)
- 47 years of experience in Network Operations, Data Center Operations, or Managed Services environments supporting enterprise and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, Routing & Switching,
including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, and High Availability protocols.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and Data Center switching technologies like, Spine Leaf, Spectrum and InfiniBand.
- Experience supporting Firewalls, VPNs, Load Balancers (F5 or equivalent), and network security operations.
- Working knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SNMP, Syslog, and network services.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud networking and hybrid Data Center environments.
- Hands-on experience with Network Monitoring and Observability tools such as SolarWinds, Site24x7, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk/ELK, Wireshark, or equivalent.
- Experience using ITSM platforms such as Zoho, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management, or equivalent for Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure incidents.
- Strong understanding of Industry security standards like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC-1&2
- Familiarity with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash is desirable.
- Excellent communication, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and customer service skills.
- Work in a 247 rotational shift environment.
- Valuable interpersonal skills and ability to work as a high performing team
- ITIL Foundation certification (preferred).
- CCNP Enterprise or equivalent networking certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in any coding languages (Preferred)
- Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, or equivalent are an added advantage.
- Vendor certifications such as CCNP, RHCSA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Splunk are desirable.
