Are you passionate about building ultra-low latency, high-performance foundations for the next generation of mobile networks?

We are looking for a Principal / Lead Platform Software Engineer with deep expertise in Linux-based bare-metal and virtualized platform software. In this role, you will architect, design, and implement high-throughput, deterministic user-plane and data-plane systems that power 4G/5G RAN and Core network elements. You will work closely with hardware acceleration technologies, kernel-bypass frameworks, and critical timing protocols to deliver carrier-grade telecom solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Architecture & Coding: Lead the system engineering, design, architecture, and high-quality C/C++ coding of 4G/5G network element platform software.
- Performance Optimization: Drive deep-dive root-cause analysis and optimization for complex issues like packet loss, interrupt storms, NUMA imbalance, and pod networking problems.
- Team Leadership: Review code, mentor high-performance engineering teams, and drive delivery excellence across software development and sustenance programs.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate and communicate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders to align technical delivery with business goals.

Required Technical Skillset

- High-Performance Data Plane:



Hands-on experience with user-space packet processing frameworks (bypassing OS kernel) such as DPDK, VPP, SR-IOV, RDMA, OVS/OVN, or XDP/eBPF.
- Hardware Offloading: Knowledge of CPU offload architectures using SmartNICs, SoCs, DPUs, FPGAs, or ASICs for user-plane and radio acceleration (CPRI/eCPRI).
- Timing & Synchronization: Deep understanding of network synchronization protocols, including IEEE 1588-2019 (PTP), ITU-T G.8275.1 (Telecom Profile), and IEEE 802.1CM (TSN for Fronthaul).
- Networking Protocols: Strong grasp of Ethernet (L2/L3), IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP, and telecom-specific signaling/user-plane protocols (GTP-U, SCTP).
- Routing & Security: Familiarity with routing protocols (BGP-4, MP-BGP, OSPF, BGP EVPN) and IP-layer security (IPsec, IKEv2).
- Cloud-Native & Tools: Robust experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or RedHat OpenShift. Proficient in Makefile build environments and CI/CD systems.
- Languages: Expert proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Object-Oriented design patterns.

Experience & Qualifications

- Experience: 12+ years of dedicated experience in 4G/5G Platform Software development.
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferred Certifications: CNCF Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or RedHat OpenShift certifications are a major plus.
