Job Description
Responsible for managing end-to-end marine procurement, supplier relationships, and logistics activities to support vessel operations and ship repair projects. The role involves sourcing technical marine spares and services, negotiating with vendors, ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing costs, and coordinating closely with operations and engineering teams to meet project and customer requirements efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of marine spares, equipment, consumables, and technical services.
- Source and negotiate with local and international suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, customs clearance, and vessel deliveries.
- Review technical requisitions and ensure timely processing of purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships.
- Monitor procurement budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Support vessel operations, ship repair, and dry-docking projects with timely material availability.
- Track supplier performance and ensure quality, delivery, and compliance standards are met.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and inventory data.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to meet customer and project requirements.
- Handle urgent and emergency procurement requests to support uninterrupted vessel operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with vessel masters, technical superintendents, and port agents for urgent requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in marine procurement, ship management, ship repair, or maritime services.
- Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical equipment, and procurement processes.
- Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and global sourcing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with ship management companies, marine service providers, shipyards, or offshore operators.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent supply chain credentials.
- Knowledge of international shipping, customs clearance, and maritime logistics.
- Experience supporting dry-docking projects, vessel operations, and emergency procurement requirements.
