As part of the CADS Software Solutions Division, you will help deliver high-quality analysis, design, and detailing tools for the construction industry. As an Engineer or Senior Engineer, you will specify and verify engineering calculations, define requirements, and ensure compliance with relevant Codes of Practice.

You will support the development team by answering engineering queries, reviewing builds, and performing rigorous verification and validation before release. You will also assist customers by providing expert engineering guidance and second-line support.

This role requires strong Civil/Structural Engineering knowledge, attention to detail, and a well-rounded, mature approach.

Key Responsibilities Engineer / Senior Engineer 1.

Engineering Calculation Specification

- Stay current with engineering best practices and develop expertise in relevant

areas such as structural analysis, geotechnics, and the design of steel, concrete,

composite, masonry, timber, and temporary works.

- Research engineering topics and applicable Codes of Practice with the Lead

Engineer.

- Build strong knowledge of existing CADS software to maintain, extend, and

ensure consistency across products.

- Develop proficiency in third-party tools supported by CADS (e.g., Scia Engineer,

Revit).

- Understand competitor software to inform and improve CADS solutions.




- Prepare detailed engineering specifications and calculations, submitting work

for checking and approval.

2. Calculation Verification

- Define the validation approach with the Lead Engineer, including benchmarking

against manual calculations or other software.

- Validate software calculations, documenting results in formal validation reports.
- Create benchmark models for verification and validation.
- Review software builds, identify engineering issues, raise bugs, and assist the

development team in resolving them.

- Ensure all engineering functionality is technically sound and complete prior to

release.

3. Engineering Support

- Support customers, the CADS Support team, and the Lead Engineer with

engineering-related queries not resolved by first-line support.

- Contribute to engineering aspects of product launches and help drive successful

customer adoption.

Required Skills

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years experience in structural design engineering.
- Proven experience either as a practising Structural Engineer or in developing

Structural Engineering software.

- Robust spoken and written communication skills.
