Design Engineer Powertrain / Engine Mount

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop engine mounting systems, transmission mounts, and powertrain brackets.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting).
- Perform engine mount packaging within the engine compartment considering space, serviceability, and manufacturability.
- Design brackets, castings, sheet metal, and rubber-to-metal mount assemblies.
- Coordinate with NVH, CAE, durability, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
- Conduct feasibility studies, tolerance stack-up, and interference (clash) analysis.
- Support prototype builds, validation, and production issue resolution.
- Implement engineering changes (ECR/ECO) and release CAD data through PLM tools (Teamcenter/ENOVIA).
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards for durability, crash, vibration, and thermal requirements.

Required Skills

- Strong proficiency in CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of powertrain integration and engine compartment packaging.
- Understanding of engine mounting systems (hydraulic, elastomeric, torque rod mounts).




- Knowledge of sheet metal, castings, welded assemblies, and GD&T.;
- Familiarity with DFMEA, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
- Experience with PLM tools (Teamcenter/ENOVIA).
- Valuable understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, machining, and casting.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- Typically 2–8 years of experience in powertrain or engine mount design.
