Functional Areas

Finance Master Data Objects in MDG

Required Knowledge : Understanding of all MDG-F governed objects: GL Account (SKA1/SKB1), Cost Centre (CSKS), Profit Centre (CEPC), Cost Element (CSKA), Internal Order (AUFK). Knowledge of how these objects are created and maintained via MDG-F.

Understanding of account group and chart of accounts structure within MDG-F.

Cost Centre & Profit Centre Design

Required Knowledge : Knowledge of cost centre hierarchy design, profit centre standard hierarchy, and their governance via MDG-F. Ability to configure responsible persons, activity types, and validity periods. Understanding of how hierarchy changes are managed through MDG change requests.

MDG-F Workflow & Governance Design

Required Knowledge : Ability to design and configure MDG-F workflows:



change request types for each finance object, Edition, approval steps, validation BAdls, and notification rules. Understanding of edition-based governance and mass activation of finance master data.

MDG-FI Authorisations & Role Design

Required Knowledge: Knowledge of MDG-F authorisation objects for finance entities (company code). (controlling area), workflow step auth, and display restrictions. Ability to document and implement segregation of duties between GL, CC, and PC governance roles. SoD rules, role matrix (FI Requestor, FI Data Steward, FI Auditor).

Staging, Finalisation & Replication Sequence

Required Knowledge: Understanding of the MDG edition lifecycle draft active final, how data moves from MDG staging tables (USMD*) to active area
