Role & responsibilities
Role Summary
The Sourcing Analyst India will support strategic sourcing initiatives across India and select emerging manufacturing markets. Working closely with the Sourcing Manager and Global Supply Chain teams, this role is responsible for supplier research, RFQ coordination, cost analysis, documentation management, and supplier performance tracking.
This position requires strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage sourcing data, reporting, and supplier communications to ensure alignment with global cost, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Support
Support the execution of sourcing strategies aligned with global cost and capacity objectives.
Conduct supplier market research and identify potential manufacturers across metal, plastic, composite, and assembly categories.
Assist in coordinating RFQ/RFP processes including supplier communication, quotation comparison, and documentation tracking.
Prepare detailed cost comparison sheets and total landed cost (TLC) analysis under supervision of the Sourcing Manager.
Maintain and update supplier database and sourcing pipeline documentation.
Support supplier onboarding activities and audit preparation.
Commercial & Cost Analysis
Prepare cost breakdown analyses and support benchmarking initiatives.
Track raw material price trends and assist in cost modeling exercises.
Maintain pricing records, contract summaries, and negotiation documentation.
Assist in monitoring cost reduction initiatives and savings tracking.
Ensure accuracy of commercial documentation and compliance records.
Supplier Performance & Compliance Tracking
Maintain supplier scorecards and track KPIs related to quality, delivery,
and cost performance.
Collect and validate supplier certifications, compliance documents, and audit reports.
Support corrective action follow-ups and performance review documentation.
Track risk indicators related to supply continuity and escalation triggers.
Ensure documentation accuracy for ISO and trade compliance standards.
Logistics & Cross-Border Coordination
Assist in tracking production schedules and shipment readiness updates.
Coordinate with logistics partners for export documentation and shipment timelines.
Support Incoterms documentation and customs compliance tracking.
Maintain shipment status reports and escalation logs.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Compile regional updates on raw material trends, trade policies, and supplier market developments.
Prepare executive dashboards and sourcing reports for global leadership.
Maintain detailed records of supplier visits, audit findings, and commercial summaries.
Serve as a communication liaison between global supply chain teams and regional suppliers for operational follow-ups.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
3–6 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain analytics within manufacturing environments.
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, casting,
fabrication, assembly).
Experience supporting RFQ processes and cost comparison analysis.
Familiarity with import/export procedures and international trade documentation is preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, cost modeling); familiarity with collaboration tools (Teams or equivalent).
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Willingness to travel regionally up to 15% as required.
