Salesforce DevOps Engineer (Copado)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Salesforce DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Copado to manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines across multiple Salesforce orgs. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Salesforce developers, architects, QA, and release managers to ensure secure, scalable, and automated deployments aligned with Salesforce best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce DevOps & CI/CD

- Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Copado for Salesforce deployments
- Manage source control integrations (Git-based) including branching strategies, commit standards, and merge processes
- Automate deployments across Development, QA, UAT, Pre-Prod, and Production environments
- Implement org-to-org promotions and metadata deployment strategies using Copado
- Handle hotfixes, rollback strategies, and release recovery processes

Release & Environment Management

- Plan and execute Salesforce release cycles (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly)
- Coordinate with development and QA teams for release readiness and deployment approvals
- Manage sandbox strategies (Developer, Partial Copy, Full Copy)
- Maintain environment synchronization and resolve metadata conflicts

Quality, Security & Governance

- Enforce Salesforce DevOps best practices, code quality standards, and naming conventions
- Integrate static code analysis (PMD, Salesforce Code Analyzer) within Copado pipelines
- Support security reviews, audit trails, and compliance requirements
- Implement backup, restore, and data masking strategies





Collaboration & Enablement

- Work closely with Salesforce Developers, Solution Architects, QA Engineers, and Product Owners
- Support developers with branching, conflict resolution, and deployment issues
- Create and maintain DevOps documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
- Mentor junior team members on Salesforce DevOps processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with Copado DevOps platform
- Salesforce platform expertise including:
- Apex, Triggers, LWC, Aura, Flows, Profiles, Permission Sets
- Metadata API, Change Sets, Salesforce DX (SFDX)
- Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and release management
- Experience working with multiple Salesforce orgs
- Knowledge of Salesforce environments and deployment challenges

DevOps & Tooling

- Copado pipelines, user stories, commits, promotions, and deployments
- Experience with automated testing and deployment validation
- Exposure to Jira / Azure DevOps for release tracking
- Understanding of CI tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions good to have)

Nice to Have

- Experience with Copado Robotic Testing
- Knowledge of Salesforce Shield, DevSecOps practices
- Experience in large enterprise or multi-team Salesforce programs
- Exposure to Agile / Protected delivery models
- Familiarity with Salesforce Managed Packages & ISV development

Certifications (Preferred)

- Salesforce Platform Developer I / II
- Copado Fundamentals / Advanced Certification
- Salesforce Administrator
- Salesforce DevOps or CI/CD related certifications
